The importance of spaying and neutering
Augustus and Caesar's story highlights the importance of spaying and neutering. Both were wild
kittens when they were given to a foster mom by a feral trapper. She worked taming them and another foster mom agreed
to help socialize them. If these kittens weren't tamed and socialized, their only hope would have been to be barn
cats. Even with the socialization, they would need great, dedicated people to adopt them because they started not trusting
humans at all.
Both foster moms wished for the best and got their wish fulfilled when they adopted them to a young,
loving couple who was told of their background and were willing to be patient and win the trust and love of these two beautiful
boys.
This couple continues to come into PetSmart on a regular basis and give updates. The boys are now named Luke and Rocky and they are spoiled with lots of love, toys and good food.
This was a success because everything came together perfectly--their trapping, their foster moms working with them and the
timing of getting them in the store when their forever family came in. For it to have worked out this way is truly amazing.
